Blogging with Students

Has anyone in the elementary tried to use a blog in their classroom with your students. I would like to but I am wondering some ideas of how to use it and still keep it school focused!! Thanks!

Scirb and EtherPad

I just finished up playing around on scrib link and ether pad. I really like scrib link to let younger students create graphic organizers (i.e. webs). This would engage them so much more then a piece of paper!!!I like EtherPad for 2 reasons. I think it would be fun for the students to either edit eachothers work at the same time or to create a story as a group. One could write a sentence and 2 others could add details. The kids could then take turns. It would work ok for me since I have kiddos in small groups. I also think it would be nice for possible team meetings. I keep thinking about students on IEP's and how hard it is to get the whole team together (esp. our therapists who are at multiple buildings). We could use this to brainstorm or keep in touch about students who may be "extra" involoved :)
